Creamy Alfredo Sauce

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 ounces cream cheese optional but does make the sauce creamier
  • 3-4 cloves fresh garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese freshly grated


  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add butter, heavy cream, and cream cheese. Stir over low heat for about 2 minutes until melted and it starts to lightly simmer.
  • Whisk in the garlic, salt, and pepper for one minute.
  • Reduce heat to low and add in the Parmesan cheese, continue to whisk until melted.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite pasta
