Today my grocery shopping list will have quite a few different ingredients than my usual list. Thanksgiving is quickly coming up and I will be cooking for the family plus. The plus can be friends, extended family and on rare occasions friends of family members; we have had all of the above over the years. This year will definitely look different with the passing of my Mother-in-Law but we know she will be here in spirit and I know we will toast her before we dig in. We generally gather around the island, when we are more than 8 people we head to the dining room. Every time we sat in the dining room my MIL would always want us to say grace. She would just grab the hands of the people sitting next to her and we always followed suit.
I am usually a little more prepared but things have been crazy of late with a celebration of life, a baby shower and a wedding 3 weekends in a row. I think we have covered the gambit with family time, now we prepare to sit and eat a meal together and then I am going to take a nap until Christmas lol
I am sure that these little nuggets of deliciousness will be on the menu at some point over the next few weeks. Since I am sharing them again, I might make them today. My granddaughter is here now, today might be the day to teach her to make them, she’s almost 3 that’s not too early right?

Curly Cues
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup cold water
- NOTE easily doubled or more
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉Bake for 45 minutes to an hour.
- In a medium bowl add the flour, water and oil. Using a fork mix until the dough comes together.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle. Take the room temperature butter and spread or place pieces all over the dough. Spread the sugar all over the butter and then cover with the cinnamon.
- Start rolling on the long end into a tube. Using a sharp knife slice into 1.5 inch pieces. Place on your prepared sheet pan.
- Note – if you have a silpat use it, if not you are going to want to make sure you use cooking spray and clean the pan while it is still a little warm. If you wait too long it turns to rock candy.
